The Core Cutter VST5 5 Flute Variable Pitch Alcrona Pro Coated End Mills are our first choice in high efficiency milling as well as standard milling applications. The 5 flute geometry will outperform a 4 flute due to the stronger core diameter and it will offset the load per flute improving the tool life. This allows for the end mill to be run faster and can even slot at 0.5xD. To extend the tool life even further and get smaller chips that stay away from the workpiece we recommend the VST5 Chipbreaker End Mills. The chipbreakers overlap so you will still get an excellent finish and can take larger radial DOCs, lower tool pressure and run a little faster all while improving end mill life! The Core Cutter AL3 Variable Pitch End Mills have a 40° Helix with a variable pitch geometry along with extra room in the flutes for better chip evacuation. The cylindrical margin on the outside of the end mill to keep the end mill from grabbing or chattering. This high performance end mill will work excellent in high efficiency milling as well as standard milling application.
